SAJA perform a hybrid of music incorporating elements of RnB, improvisational Jazz with a nod to contemporary European and Indian Classical. Their live performances range from stripped back acoustic folk music to electric instrumentation, loop stations and computerisation.
SAJA explore folk songs linked to Sally Jamila’s genetic and cultural lineage. Born in Aotearoa, Sally’s Cook Island-Tahitian roots interweave with her Croatian and Indian heritage, providing a rich blend of influences. Their multi-lingual repertoire spins folkloric treasure into new offerings.
